Live to Worship
“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Colossians 3:17
What does worship mean to you? You may have heard the phrase "Worship is a lifestyle". Beyond the songs that we sing in church, or the prayers that we pray, the apostle Paul exhorts us to do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are urged to offer ourselves as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God (Rom 12:1).
For me personally, this has been a season of letting God refine my worship for Him, to glorify Him in the simplest of ways. As a full-time father of 3 young kids under 5 years old, much of my world has been turned upside down to be focused on tending to the daily needs of my little ones. I hardly have any time or energy left for "work" or "ministry" in the conventional sense.
Yet God reminds me - every single thing I do, even the most mundane or insignificant thing - can be counted as worship unto Him! Even washing milk bottles or changing diapers can glorify Him, for that too is a picture of the Heavenly Father's love for His children. Ultimately, what God values most is not so much the magnitude of the things we do, but the posture of our hearts.
Reflect on how you can glorify God in the simplest and smallest aspects of your life in this new year!
